Long Description: Barrel style bass drum with tack pattern on ash shell and two ivory rimmed vent holes, ash hoops. Nominal Size: 29 x 28. Two labels read: Wm. Horstmann & Son, Philadelphia. Constructed from 2 shells pieced together in the middle. Reported to have been carried from Ft. Warren, Boston Harbor to California during Mexican War. Donated to the Foundation by Fred Benkovic, Brookfield, WI
